Maybe it's just me but it seems this great country, particularly the period of the last six years, has gone to hell in a handbasket because this administration, led by neocons, have embarked upon an ideological approach to government -- when this is supposed to be government based on rule of law -- such as the Constitution. When personal and religious beliefs spearhead the actions of a government it ceases to be a democratic republic and becomes, instead, what amounts to a theocracy.
For the record: I am a registered independent voter and claim no political or ideologic allegiance to either of the two major political parties. I have areas of agreement with conservatives, progressives and libertarian, and a large smattering of ideologies based upon my own experiences, my training (specifically as a former military intelligence analyst), and what I consider to be logic, reason, and common sense.
This blog is dedicated to the memory of my dear, beloved father -- who always encouraged me from time of birth until he died to believe in myself, to dare to dream my dreams and formulate plans of action to achieve these goals, and above all, to be true to myself and be, above all, an independent thinker.
We would frequently discuss world events, philosophy and he taught me HOW to think for myself. Dad for all you gave me and taught me, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
